Quite a bit has been said on this forum about fundraising and so on. So I’m going to bite the bullet to see if we can get something rolling that would potentially raise 10k from the fan base during the course of the forthcoming season.

The idea is a 300 club. A simple, but ambitious idea that needs folk to step up to the plate and support it.

All that’s required is 300 people to pay £5.00 a month which would give a pot of £1500 each month. There would be £500 worth of winnings each month (1st, 2nd & 3rd), with the 1k going to the club. Over a season, it could raise 10k. That sum of money could even be given to the club this time next year to assist with life at Newmarket.

But, of course, we need 300 people to do it. With apathy, people might think it is pie in the sky, but the reality is that I see no reason why a club of our size can’t do it especially as there would be no limitations as to how many ‘shares’ each member can have, so some may pay £10 for 2 shares instead of a fiver.

Just an idea at the moment, but something that could bring the whole club together….but it’s the old chestnut – it would need the support – big time.

Nothing set in stone yet, but just an idea and could potentially be the main fundraiser from the terraces. So with that in mind, I would welcome any feedback and also folk to say ‘yes, I’m up for that’ so that it could give me a bit of inspiration to get it off the ground.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man!

Great idea Andy, exactly what's needed, and I will say i'm in. If we get somewhere close to the 300 fans then this will be a real success and I think Kevin and Gary would really appreciate it.

Good to see a positive start on here already. Well done guys.

What I'm a bit worried about is that ideas all appear to be how to get more cash from existing supporters!! The Commercial Department should surely be looking at the bigger picture !! Nevertheless, this is a great idea from Andrew, and I'm all for it. £5 a month should not be a problem for anybody.Supporters from far and wide could subscribe to this and 300 should be comfortably possible. Add me to the list.

There is no reason to just target the fans as we all know we will not get the support needed to hit 300. But for just a fiver a month I can see friends and family joining in to this if we promote it well enough.

Once again its down to all supporters to spread the word and encourage others to join.

Well done Andy for the idea
